These illustrations were created during my five-week internship with the National Museum of Natural History. They are a part of an ongoing project of beetle illustrations in the Entomology Department. Microscopes were used to see the minuscule flea beetles, and a camera lucida attachment helped to get the forms of the twisted specimens. Combining traditional and digital techniques, my intern host taught me this method of illustrating museum specimens for publication.
